In its first stage of development, "Habana Sax" covered extensively the works of such classical music composers as Claude Debussy, Rimski Korsakov, Jean Absil, Gabriel Piernét and Jean Rivier as well as of relevant contemporary Cuban composers such as Cervantes, Simmons, Leo Brouwer, Fariñas, Malcolm y Allen and international ones such as Glenn Miller, George Gershwin, Pierre Vellones and Jacques Ibert.

The group then continued evolving in its search of its very own music language and presentation. At present "Habana Sax" have come to perform a wide range of music, focusing on Latin Jazz, Música Caribeña (Caribbean Music) and Cuban Música Popular (popular music) with such famous tunes as "Son de la Loma", "El Manisero", "El Negrito del Batey" and its most celebrated "La Guantanamera", which surely enraptures any kind of audience anywhere.

Its musicians not only offer a lavish display of professional mastery and virtuosity but also manage to ensure an incredible fusion with the audience, rendering it literally contagious with its typical Cuban flavor and, with a wealth of imagination, combing Afrocuban music, percussion items and popular Cuban tunes, which are performed by the five before they end up dancing on stage.

This stage performance reaches a climax when "Habana Sax" invites the audience to join them, to play and to sing on stage. "Habana Sax" affords the discovery of a different music, a music which is also interactive, carrying away the audience into that tropical atmosphere inherent in Cuban music. Their music invites people to dance to the catchy and harmonious rhythms of the cha-cha-cha, mambo, rumba, danzón, son, bolero, conga, salsa, and, last but not least, jazz and Latin jazz in its purest variety.

Following their success achieved all over Cuba, the originality of "Habana Sax" has enabled them to launch a highly successful career abroad which took them on many internationjal tours across such European countries as France, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, Estonia, Czech Republic, Finland and Austria. In addition, they have repeatedly appeared on radio and television.
